Manila Made History: The Inaugural History Con Draws Epic Crowds

Asia’s first-ever HISTORY CON event drew thousands of fans last weekend who made their way down to the iconic World Trade Center in Manila, along with HISTORY stars and local celebrities, social media influencers, exhibitors and other guests. The biggest convention of its kind, HISTORY CON thrilled and entertained the X-strong crowd over four days from 25 August. The ticketed event was packed with activities of appearances, performances, screenings, talks, demonstrations and other hands-on experiences covered a broad range of genres and interests.

 

New, More Engaging Treasure Hunt

We have advised, designed and delivered a seamless experience using our proprietary visual discovery technology. To celebrate HISTORY CON, attendees could simply hover their smartphones over a video and let the iQNECT visual discovery app to do the rest, and unlock badges at six different HISTORY booths. World Records Broken
HISTORY CON shattered several Guinness World Records, including one for ‘the longest TV-watching marathon’ with a time of X, besting the previous record of 94 hours. On Saturday, 20 August, another two records were broken for the ‘most burgers consumed in one minute’ (X) and ‘largest serving of garlic mushrooms’ (X).

He continued, “We were hoping for a big turnout but the massive crowds and their enthusiasm surpassed all our expectations. HISTORY HUSTLE host Simon Yin covered the event as the official digital host of HISTORY CON, imparting his quirky, gregarious humour to the proceedings and ensuring fans who could not make it down to the event could still partake in the fun online via HISTORY’s Facebook page from home and watch highlights from the event. HISTORY also discovered a brand new digital star from the Philippines at a live audition it held during HISTORY CON at the HISTORY Digital Studio. From all the promising talent who took the stage on Sunday, X was chosen to co-host a webisode for the channel with Yin.
